Important Insurance Facts
1. Private dental insurance is NOT meant to be a pay-all, it is only meant to assist with the cost of your treatment. If you have a high premium plan, you may receive close to full coverage. We will work with you to ensure proper billing divided between you and your provider if we are able.
2. Many plans tell their insured that they will be covered “up to 80% or up to 100%”. In actuality, the amount your plan pays is determined by how much the employer paid for the coverage. Most plans pay about 40% – 50% of an average fee. Some plans have dollar per year limits on dental services.
3. Many routine, necessary and non-cosmetic dental services are not covered by insurance carriers. Please read your policy carefully and request assistance from your provider if you are uncertain before you book a procedure.
4. Denture and implant services are not covered by provincial health plans. You or your insurance provider will have to cover the costs of the procedure, which will be billed to you. Payment for all professional services is expected at the time service is performed unless financial arrangements have been made prior to the beginning of treatment.
